Day 1: Tangier

Arrive to Tangier either by boat or plane and transfer to your hotel. Tangier, also known as “Tangiers”, is an ancient port soaked in history, as it was used to protect the entrance to the Mediterranean. It has a very busy Medina and the new city as well.

Day 2: Cape Spartel

Spend the morning exploring Tangiers. This afternoon, we'll go towards the west of Tangier to Spartel Cape, passing through the mountains. Here it is possible to see eagles and migratory birds going to or coming from Spain, according to the seasons. Visit the Caves of Hercules, just 5 km to the south of Spartel Cape lighthouse. According to the legend, Hercules stayed and slept in this cave before doing his 11th labour.

Day 3: Tetouan city

In this morning, we'll leave to Tangier, heading west along the coast and mountain road toward Ceuta. There are good views of the sea and the chance to climb the Jebel Musa mountain, facing the Rock of Gibraltar (Jebel Tarik). After lunch in Tetouan, you'll continue your journey along the coast, passing by the small fishing port of Cabo Negro and then move toward the mountains to Chefchaouen. This city, founded in 1471, was very isolated until the early 20th century. High in the Rif mountains, Chefchaouen is painted in shades of blue, a precious legacy of the Jewish population that lived there.

Day 4: Chefchaouen

Enjoy a day of leisure in Chefchaouen, a haven of peace and tranquility. Discover the medina of Chefchaouen, the woven silk and wool quarter, the main square with its cafés, and the souks.

Day 5: The Rif Mountains

Today you'll travel through the Rif mountains to Fes. The Rif Mountains are still relatively unexplored by visitors, in part because they are very remote and in part because of the Hashish grown in fields in the hidden valleys. However, with your guide and driver, you will be able to relax and enjoy of this virgin part of Morocco.

Day 6: Fes

The oldest and largest medieval city in the world, Fez is a hive of activity, bustling and truly fascinating. Spend the day exploring this historic city, its souks, the palaces and the views from the museum and the old Kasbah just outside the city walls.

Day 7: Roman City of Volubilis

Leaving the city this morning, visit the old Roman city of Volubilis, in the foothills of the Middle Atlas mountains. Admire their incredible mosaics, gates, villas and the remains of its Forum... The city was so big that not everything has been excavated yet. In the afternoon, visit the city of Moulay Idriss, only open to non-Muslims in the recent history and that bears the name of the founder of Fez. Spend the night in the imperial city of Meknes.

Day 8: Views of the Rif Mountains

Exit of Meknes, pass by the Rif Mountains and the city of Ksar el Kebir, back to Tangier. Spend your last night in leisure mode, having time for some purchases of last minute souvenirs or a pleasant meal in one of the numerous and delicious restaurants.

Day 9: Tangier

Transfer to the airport or harbor ferries.

How long are the driving distances?

Driving times vary from 3-6 hours per day depending on the route, with regular stops at scenic viewpoints, villages, and attractions. The drives through the Atlas Mountains and desert are scenic and part of the experience.

What is the camel ride like?

The camel ride lasts approximately 1-1.5 hours through the Sahara dunes. Camels walk slowly and steadily — no experience is needed. You will ride at sunset or sunrise for the best experience. Each person has their own camel, led by an experienced Berber guide.

What are the desert camps like?

Our luxury desert camps feature private tents with real beds, hot showers, electricity, and Wi-Fi. You will enjoy traditional Berber dinner, live drumming music around a campfire, and an incredible starry sky. Standard camps are also available at lower prices.

What should I wear in the Sahara desert?

Comfortable, loose clothing is best. In spring/autumn, bring a light jacket for evenings. In summer, wear light fabrics, a hat, and sunscreen. In winter, bring a warm jacket as desert nights can be cold (5-10°C). Comfortable shoes or sandals are recommended for walking on sand.
