Student Desert Caravan – Marrakech to Sahara
Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech
Arrive in Marrakech and feel the pulse of Morocco's most vibrant city. Depending on your arrival time, wander through the Medina, explore Jemaa el-Fnaa square, or relax in a rooftop café watching the sunset over the red city. Overnight stay in a traditional riad in Marrakech. (Dinner not included – breakfast only.)
Day 2: From Marrakech to the Desert
After breakfast, the adventure begins. Cross the High Atlas Mountains through the legendary Tizi n'Tichka Pass, stopping at breathtaking viewpoints. Visit the ancient Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and filming location for Game of Thrones and Gladiator.
Continue the journey through Ouarzazate — known as the "Gateway to the Desert" — and the green Skoura Valley, before arriving at Merzouga, the edge of the Sahara.
As the sun begins to set, ride your camel caravan across the dunes to your luxury desert camp. Enjoy a traditional Berber dinner, live drumming by the fire, and a sky filled with more stars than you've ever seen. Sleep in your private tent surrounded by silence and sand.
Day 3: Desert Adventure & Dades Valley
Wake up early to catch the sunrise over the dunes — an unforgettable moment. After breakfast, enjoy a thrilling ATV (quad bike) ride and sandboarding session on the golden dunes.
Later, visit a local Berber family to share tea and learn about desert life. Then drive through the Todra Gorge, one of Morocco's most spectacular canyons, before reaching the stunning Dades Valley — known for its dramatic rock formations and oasis views. Dinner and overnight stay in a charming hotel overlooking the valley.
Day 4: Ait Ben Haddou & Return to Marrakech
After breakfast, travel back through the Valley of Roses and stop again at Ait Ben Haddou for a final photo session — this time from its secret panoramic viewpoint. Cross the Atlas Mountains and return to Marrakech, arriving in the evening. Transfer directly to the airport or your accommodation.
End of an unforgettable Moroccan weekend — filled with dunes, music, and new friendships.
