Day 1: Tour Casablanca and trip to Marrakech

Our driver will pick you up at the Casablanca airport. We will do a quick tour of the city of Casablanca: visit the Hassan II mosque, the beach area and you will be also free for explore the city on your own. Then, we will travel to Marrakech and we will stay in a local riad, a traditional Arab house with an interior patio around which the different rooms and rooms are organized.

Day 2: Guided tour of Marrakech

On the second day, we will do a private guided tour of the Medina of Marrakech with an official guide. You will see the famous Koutubia Mosque, the Medina and its souks (markets), and you will be able to explore some of the most interesting secrets of Marrakech, such as the Ali Ben Youssef Koranic school (madrasa), the Saadian, the Bahia Palace and the Majorelle Gardens. We will spend tonight in the same local riad as the night before in the Medina.

Day 3: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Dades Gorges

On the third day, we leave Marrakech and cross the Tizi n'Tichka pass, through the majestic High Atlas mountains. We will visit the Berber fortified city (ksar) Ait Ben Haddou, declared UNESCO a World Heritage Site in 1987. We will continue exploring the Dades Valley and its famous Gorges and arrive at the Gorges of Dades, where we will have dinner and spend the night in a local riad in the mountains.

Day 4: Dades Gorges - Erg Chebbi (Sahara Desert)

On the fourth day, we will visit Todra Gorges, the most impressive canyon in Morocco. Then, we head towards Erfoud and Rissani. In the afternoon, we will arrive at a charming desert hotel located in the Erg Chebbi where we will have dinner.

Day 5: 4x4 Excursion through the village of Khamlia

On the fifth day, we will explore the Sahara Erg Chebbi desert. You will visit a local musical village Khamlia and enjoy tea with an authentic nomadic Berber family. Then, we will prepare for a walk in the desert. We will stop to watch a magnificent sunset and enjoy dinner under the stars in a Berber-style tent, where we will also spend the night.

Day 6: Erg Chebbi - Ziz valley - Ifrane - Fez

We will wake up early to go to see the sunrise in camel trek and then return to the hotel. Afterwards, we will go towards the Ziz valley and the Middle Atlas mountains, we will pass through Midelt, Ifrane - the ‘Moroccan Switzerland’ - and finally we will return to our riad in Fez.

Day 7: Fez city tour

On the seventh and last day, you will explore the medina of Fez with an official guide. The medina of Fez is the oldest and most beautiful in Morocco and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will also visit the university of Fez, the oldest in the world. Finally, a visit to the tanners and then relax on a terrace overlooking the tannery.

What is the camel ride like?

The camel ride lasts approximately 1-1.5 hours through the Sahara dunes. Camels walk slowly and steadily — no experience is needed. You will ride at sunset or sunrise for the best experience. Each person has their own camel, led by an experienced Berber guide.

What are the desert camps like?

Our luxury desert camps feature private tents with real beds, hot showers, electricity, and Wi-Fi. You will enjoy traditional Berber dinner, live drumming music around a campfire, and an incredible starry sky. Standard camps are also available at lower prices.

What should I wear in the Sahara desert?

Comfortable, loose clothing is best. In spring/autumn, bring a light jacket for evenings. In summer, wear light fabrics, a hat, and sunscreen. In winter, bring a warm jacket as desert nights can be cold (5-10°C). Comfortable shoes or sandals are recommended for walking on sand.
